Uncle Sandy

So, our friend Sandy is a movie star. Yep, really.

He has played a lot of sci fi roles on tv.

He is well known throughout the world (especially if you follow sci fi conventions).

He has played many different characters...

in many different roles.

This is Sandy as Chet, the cowboy that shoots Kevin Costner's character in Open Range.

This is Sandy as a Norseman in the 13th Warrior.

What a face!

We laughed tonight before Dev and the kids left for Mutual

when Sandy told us that he has been killed 28 times in roles that he has played.

This reminded us of when Sandy sent us a tape to watch of his role on

Dead Man's Gun.

We were so excited about it we gathered the kids around us

and pushed the video into the machine.

I'm sure he did warn us...

As he was hanged by Henry Winkler H, who was 3 at the time, started to cry hysterically,

"Why did Uncle Sandy have to die!"

Being 3 she did not realize that he was acting.

So we had to call Sandy at home so he could tell her that he was okay.

Poor H. It took her a while to get over that.

We were much more careful to preview video Sandy sent us after that.

We are so blessed to have him in our lives.

He is in my family room right now recording lines for video games.

Yes, he does voices in movies and video games as well.

Seriously, so fun to have him here.

I am the only one home and while he is recording the house has to be super quiet.

So, everything is turned off,

no laundry noises,

no tv,

no dishwasher,

no talking,

no noise.

Seriously, it is so quiet here that I can hear the lap top motor!

I hope the phone does not ring and that the sump does not go on!

spoke too soon the sump just went off!

Sandy grew up here and comes to town once in a while.

When he comes home he always takes the time to talk

to Dev's drama and film classes to show them that dreams can come true.

You can make a living as an actor.

You can live an amazing life full of adventure, travel and excitement.

If you work hard.

Part of the reason we are so proud of Sandy's successes is because we know

that Sandy worked hard to get to where he is.

He is such a nice guy.

Everyone likes him. He is versatile and he can be anyone that he needs to be for a role.

We are so glad that he comes to see us!

Hopefully one day we will get to go and see him!

He is many different people all the time,

but to us he will always be our Uncle Sandy!

PS I really have enjoyed this time I have spent with no noise.

I think I will do this again!
