Where does the time go?

I can't believe the last post was Christmas!! Since then, M has moved away and back again to go to college, H has finished a year of college and is taking a year off, C has learned to do a tonne of new tricks on his pink bike and is in grade 11. I have moved to a new school (teaching the same grade) and am finding that teaching is the same no matter where you are. There are now 2 high schools, but thankfully Dev was able to stay at our local school. Hubby is now the Bishop in our ward and we have been blessed from this huge responsibility many times since April. We appreciate the love and prayers we receive from the members of the ward family, and family and friends near and far.

In August, we were fortunate to be able to meet our besties missionary, S, at the airport as he arrived home from his incredible mission in Tahiti. We enjoyed hosting as family and friends came to wish the Gilson's well and to welcome S home. It was so fantastic to see the young children of special friends as they are growing into amazing young people. We feel blessed to know so many good people inside and outside the church.

One of our favourite things we gave our family for Christmas is a guest book. Whenever someone comes over we get them to sign the book and it is so fun to see who has been here and why, and especially to have the Elders and Sisters that have served here record their time in our home.

We have updated a few things in said home… new paint in a couple of rooms, a new tap or two, new washer and dryer, insulation in the attic of the garage and hopefully, new flooring soon!

It was a beautiful summer. we stayed a bit closer to home than usual but did enjoy a trip to Southern Ab for the first of July. We loved catching up with cousins and their kids who are all grown up and getting married. We had an enjoyable and mostly restful summer. A first for us was that although we travelled to Southern AB all together, M was living in St Albert and the other two kids had to travel back home for work. For the first time Mom and Dad had a week at our summer place without any kids. We had fun working around the property with my amazing parents. We worked in the garden, yard and even cleaned eaves troughs. And now, suddenly, it has become fall! I hope that the wind stays calm so the leaves can hang around for a while!

I am blessed to have a good family, amazing and kind children and a loving husband who serves diligently both in our home and in the church.I know I am blessed to have supportive friends and colleagues and a good job to go to everyday! Happy with my life as it is now. Thinking of and praying for cousin Kevin and his family as Cheryl is struggling with another occurrence of cancer. She is an amazing example of faith in her Heavenly Father and of focusing on the positive each day despite extremely challenging circumstances. Love to the Linfords.
