School of Art

When we visited Uncle Ron in the hospital a few years ago in Edson, there were some really neat art projects in the hall outside his room. Basically the pictures were coloured self-portraits of kids and in their big smiling mouth they had written their names. They were super cute!

Then I saw some bobble-head art on a website that I was checking out.

This is my class' version of those projects as posted on the wall this week!
No names in the mouths because we have another name project in the works.

Each bobble head is doing his/her favorite sport.

If you knew the kids you would laugh out loud as I have many times at how real they look!
Even the 4 that were drawn by students of the administrators and my job share partner are, to quote my own personal kids, 'classic'!

I love how they interpreted their skin colour.
(I have more than one student in my class that would be considered to have darker skin tone.)

My favorite is the bowler with the big teeth and yellow background. This student has maybe said 25 words since school started so his bright, cheerful talk-show-host-like caricature of himself was a really nice surprise!

Can you find my bobble-head?

Also, to celebrate the first day of fall, we created these masterpieces in 25 minutes!

I love art and seeing how each projects is unique.
Just like the kids!
