Yesterday I stayed for the assembly and as I walked into the gym a boy in grade three said "Mrs Whipple, guess who came to see me for Christmas?" I could barely ask who when he said "my dad!" He went on to tell me how his dad surprised him and all the fun things they had done. I am thankful for all the wonderful children I am able to learn from and share with everyday at the school. And I love the staff and appreciate how I am included and considered part of the staff. I love the Avondale school community.
I worked out to the wii yesterday and can't get over how uncoordinated I am! I laughed out loud numerous times while boxing and marching with the band and never mind how long it took me to ride a bike around an island! I did run the short run two times and my personal trainer told me I have good balance. Yay for me!
Last night we watched the Canadian National Junior team lose the gold medal game to the USA in sudden death overtime. Canada came back in the last two or three minutes of the third period to tie the game but just couldn't pull out a sixth gold medal win. It was fun to watch as a family.
I'm glad I was able to go Visiting Teaching yesterday and to share a message on self-reliance. It really made me think about where I am and where our family is. Are we self- reliant enough to help others if there is need? Are we self reliant spiritually, emotionally, and physically? Food storage comes to mind: we need to stock up! One thing to work on this year... among others.
Time to get ready for work.
