Wall of Honour

At the end of June M was invited to the Annual Wall of Honour Night at the High School. She was part of the group representing the Warriors, our favorite team. She was so excited to be there with 3 of her favorite players who were getting recognized as well.

In the photo on the left is a former Wall of Honour inductee, a former Teacher from the Comp who was an integral part of the school team for many years and who went on to be a one of the men who spearheaded the movement to protect Kakwa Falls. He is a really amazing member of the community and he also happens to be our neighbour!

On the right is this years inductee, David Emerson. He went to the Comp and later went on to be an MP, the CEO of Canfor, The CEO of the Vancouver Airport Authority, and now he is the big guy at Canadian Western Bank.

It was neat to see these two men together as Mr. Neufeld was Mr. Emerson's teacher! They had fun memories to share with each other and with us!

Coach said that M was the "best Manager the team had ever had". He then went on to say "3 of my daughters were managers of the team and they would all agree with me on that."

We are so proud of her for the hard work she put in for the team and for the players. I know the players really loved having her there and they depended on her for many things! Some of them even asked her to come back this spring for spring camp to tape for them. She didn't because she didn't want to step on the toes of the new managers... but she jumped at the chance to go to Edmonton with them when they needed her!
