time and smoke

ok. I noticed that as I posted the last post, the time is in Alberta time. We of course are in the eastern time zone. it is interesting that our phones changed time automatically but the computer did not. so it is 5:05 pm here and we fly at 6:30 eastern time. we got to the airport at 1:45! we were living on Alberta time for the first couple of days, now I think our bodies are working on eastern time and losing two hours tonight will be an adjustment too.

One thing we really noticed here is that everyone smokes!

pEOPLE STAND OUTSIDE THE OFFICE BUILDINGS AND STORES (oops! I'm not really yelling just too lazy to go back...) and smoke. Lots of people. We walked past many restaurants that we might have considered eating at except the smoke outside the front doors was too thick to walk through.

people even smoke as they walk and so we tried to dodge around them as fast as we could on the busy sidewalks. on bloor street, the fancy shopping street (gap, holt renfrew, tiffany, williams&sonoma...) the street is under construction to make the sidewalks wider so more people can walk, and so they can have trees etc. I think wider sidewalks are needed so people can walk down the sidewalk without having to dodge the smoke.

I know people at home smoke too, but I guess there are just way more people here!
