I have wanted to take family photos on our back deck (like we have done for a few years now) since Jan 1. That is when we have done them before at the start of the new year. A measurement of how we have changed and grown.
Well, of course, that day has come and long gone.
We have had nothing but snow for the last week and we are still under a snowfall warning as I write this. The snow is white, fluffy and amazingly beautiful!
Today was the day!
So I shoveled the knee deep snow off the back deck, collected the fam (who came so enthusiastically!) had a little discussion about our clothing choices, and proceeded to stand on the deck for pics.
Remember, not only is it snowing, it is also -26˚C.
But with a small bit of prompting we took quite a few shots of the kids, parents, and the whole family (thank you self timer!).
As you can see in this teaser snow was really coming down!
Thank you to my terrific family for enduring this important tradition.
Why do we do it?
Today's answer was 'because I want to'.
But hopefully, in the years to come these experiences as a family will be remembered happily. Even though they can start off rough, there usually are a few laughs !
Memories are being made.
Love, love, love it!!!
