the road to holiness

Today was Stake women's conference. I had been asked to speak about Sister Hinckley. I loved to read about her life, her positive example to all, her love for her family, and her strong testimony of the gospel. All of these things inspire me to want to be better.

The Stake RS President challenged us to choose one of the things we were asked to do today and to try to do it better. I can do that.

There were many great ideas and talks given and beautiful songs sung by talented sisters in our huge stake. Not huge in numbers but huge in distance. Huge in testimony. It was amazing how many sisters came so far on such a busy weekend. I think there were just over 100 women and one man. (All of the Stake Priesthood leaders and the Bishops and Branch Presidents were called to a meeting in Edmonton with a General Authority. Hmmm?) Anyway, this good Brother did the adjusting, arranging AND gave a great talk about Temples.

He and I both have a hard time giving a talk without tears. Nothing new for either of us today. He said he was thinking we were kindred spirits when I was crying during my talk and I was thinking that I appreciate that he feels the Spirit so strongly when he was speaking. Good job, President.

I had a fun time today helping friend Mo (and others) crimp the bracelets closed that the sisters made today. All of them were masterpieces. I loved the song friend Trish sang, "She Loved Much". I heard it was written by a Sister from Southern AB. Beautiful-both the lyrics and the voice of the singer.

There were many special moments today. An inspiring way to spend the first beautiful day of spring!
