a grateful heart

This morning I took M to seminary and spent an hour cleaning out a forgotten cupboard full of leftovers from Relief Society projects of days gone by. an hour! There were many quilts, and baby blankets and fabric scraps to sort. There were decorations from past harvest fairs, table cloths, and clutter. Thankfully, I finished my purging just as M and her seminary friends were heading out the door to school. They each hauled a bag or two to the dumpster and saved me many trips. I was grateful. I am thankful for happy, willing youth.

H had to get herself to the bus since I was not home. I lost track of the time in my efforts. So glad everyone at home woke up and got ready for the day without me.

Dropping C (and our carpooler K) off at school, I was invited to a drum circle in the kindergarten class that I will be teaching for 2 weeks while the teacher goes to an exotic local to get married. So I stayed and played. I loved it! The drum leader was a grandma of one of the boys. Every child had their own drum to play and then they got to try different shakers and percussion instruments. It was really fun to see how they reacted to the sounds and the experience. I cropped kids out of the pictures but the little hands are so precious. Grateful to have had this experience today. 'One word'... happy. (Each child was asked to say in one word how they were feeling at the end of the session almost all of them said happy!)
