valentine love part 2

Well, Valentine's Day is Dev's birthday.
I always feel like I don't do enough for his special day.
We got him a few cards and some sweet treats and a writers book that he wanted ( we bought it while he was with us a few weeks ago but didn't give it to him!) While he was at his early morning meeting at the church I called a few friends and invited them over to have cake that night and told them it was a surprise so they wouldn't say anything to him at church. We came home and had dinner and then watched some Olympic coverage on tv which promptly induced slumber. While birthday boy was sleeping we all ran through the house and cleaned up! C shoved everything from the front entry into the front closet! He was so into the surprise part! The girls were big helps too! Just before the guests were set to arrive we woke birthday boy up so he could freshen up and not have drool or crease marks on his face. He was surprised when the 4 couples arrived. They brought funny cards and we had yummy home made chocolate cupcakes with pink icing and ice cream. It was a fun night!
Happy birthday #43!

Update: The top pic is the Valentine's card that Dev made for me. It had the most perfect poem inside it. The second pic is my birthday card for him. The song the card plays is our wedding song "True" by Spandau Ballet. Had to get it. I modified the 'Sixteen Candles' pic to personalize the message: "I'll always have a crush on you!"
